Muốn hiểu được ư nghiă cuả những cụm từ hay những câu ngắn, hay câu khác thường về ngữ pháp, th́ phải đặt nó trong văn cảnh (context) cuả nó, th́ mới suy ra được.
Khi tách rời ra như thế này, khó ḷng hiểu nổi, th́ làm sao dịch được!

Tôi đồng ư với ototot. Cũng là 1 câu như vậy nhưng if cái phase của nó khác th́ cái ư nghĩa của 1 câu giống vậy dịch ra cũng khác đi.

Thế là 280573 đă rất may mắn khi được sinnombre trả lời một cách chính xác và có trách nhiệm.
Đúng như tôi đă đoán, sinnombre đă t́m được nưả kia ("losers, weepers") để cắt nghiă nưả này ("finders, keepers").
"Back out" và "Outback" giải thích cũng rất hợp lư trong văn cảnh, mặc dầu người hỏi viết rời nhau chữ "Outback".
Thật đáng nể phục cho hai câu trả lời.

Ai đang học tiếng Anh cũng nên để ư cách dịch "to find" ở đây là "lượm", "nhặt" được cho đúng lối nói cuả tiếng Việt, chứ không phải "t́m" được.

Tôi th́ thấy câu này đơn giản. Người hỏi đă chấm câu rất rơ (dấu chấm than và đầu câu viết hoa), do đó theo tôi có thể dich ở thể mệnh lệnh(imperative).
1. Find her keep her!=Hăy đi t́m và giữ lấy cô ấy !/ Hăy đi t́m và bảo vệ cô ấy !
Keep c̣n có nghĩa là bảo vệ
2. Back out in the out back !
Từ out back là từ tiếng Anh của người Úc sử dụng với nghĩa là vùng thôn quê hay vùng xa xôi hẻo lánh. Back out là động từ có nghĩa là ẩn náu,lẫn trốn, rút lui.
Vậy câu này có thể dịch :
Hăy lui vè vùng xa xôi hoặc Về vùng quê heo hút mà trốn đi !

Có một định luật về cách hiểu và viết, nói một ngoại ngữ, là phải sang đất nước người ta một thời gian, sống hoà ḿnh một thời gian với người ta, may ra mới hiểu khá được, chứ chỉ học ở trường lớp không thôi, th́ không đủ.
Ví dụ phải sang sống ở Trung Quốc, Anh, Pháp, Đức... một thời gian mới nắm bắt được nhiều hơn về tiếng Hoa, tiếng Anh, tiếng Pháp, tiếng Đức.
Đó cũng là lư do tôi nói "chữ nghiă" không thể tách rời khỏi "context" cuả nó!
Ví dụ: Ai chưa ở Mỹ bao giờ, khó ḷng phát âm đúng những tên riêng như Chicago, Wichita, Michigan, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas Tucson, ...

Dear Kitharan,
"Find her, keep her" is a grammatically correct sentence, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, native speakers usually use the verb "To find" for things, especially thing that they have already lost, rather than for human beings. Yes! Of course one could try to "find" his love one if he lost one, but when it comes to a knock out drop dead gorgeous young lady of one's dream a native speaker uses the term "Catch and Hold" instead of "Find and Keep".
By the way, "Back out" in this context is NOT a phrasal verb "back out" which means "withdraw", and NOT "hide". In this context "Back" is a verb and "Out" is an adverb which means "in a direction away from the inside", for examples: 1). Let's go OUT and look at the stars. 2) He just stepped OUT for a drink of water. 3) I got in my car and backed out of the garage.

Câu "Find her keep her!" là tiêu đề của 1 bộ phim hoạt h́nh, và tôi nghe lời dịch là: "Đă t́m được, phải giữ lấy!"
Đúng như bac ototot nói, tôi nhờ dịch thế này chả khác ǵ đánh đố, nhưng như vậy mới thực sự t́m kiếm được nhân tài
Câu thứ 2 cũng là tên của một bộ phim hoạt h́nh, nghĩa của nó th́ bạn dich chưa đúng với lời dịch tôi nghe

Đă bao lần, tôi đọc được 4 câu tiếng Anh, chép lên đây, để mong các vị cao minh chỉ bảo giùm nguồn gốc, v́ có người bảo đó là lời cuả Khổng Tử, có người bảo là tục ngữ Ả Rập, có người bảo dịch từ tiếng Phạn (sanskrit):

I truly do not know the origin of the ancient proverbs which Mr. Ototot posted above (Perhaps, either Lao Tzu or Confucius who may have said them!?). However, to the best of my ability, I will try to translate them into Vietnamese for those who do not understand English well (Not for Mr. Ototot though :-) 'cause I know for sure he understands them as well as he could translate them into Vietnamese).
My Vietnamese and English are limited and I may be just what the French would call "Ce sont les tonneaux vides qui font le plus de bruit" ("It's the empty barrels that make the most noise" = "Thùng rổng kêu to"). So please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you!
Sinnombre thật t́nh không biết nguồn gốc của những câu thành ngữ cổ xưa mà Bác Ototot đăng ở trên ( Có thể là Lăo Tử hay Khổng Tử đă nói!?). Thế nhưng với hết khả năng Sinnombre sẽ cố gắng dịch những câu thành ngữ nầy ra tiếng Việt Nam cho những người không hiểu tiếng Anh nhiều (Không phải dịch cho Bác Ototot :-) v́ Sinnombre biết chắc chắn là Bác Ototot thừa hiểu cũng như thừa khả năng dịch những câu thành ngữ nầy ra tiếng Việt Nam).
Tiếng Việt Nam và tiếng Anh của Sinnombre có giới hạn và Sinnombre cũng có thể là người mà người Pháp gọi là "Ce sont les tonneaux vides qui font le plus de bruit" ("Thùng rổng kêu to"). V́ vậy nếu Sinnombre có sai xin tất cả làm ơn sửa sai giùm. Căm ơn!

After reading all the postings I still find there's no satisfactory answer to the phrase "find her, keep her" yet. According to Sinnombre's excerpt from the dictionary, the closest phrase is "finders keepers, losers weepers" which kids use to tease each other. But this phrase seems to apply to things only, and not human beings as Sinnombre also stated. So how do you really translate "find her, keep her"?
If the definition is obvious to people who read this topic, then I'd rather be the person who "knows not, and knows that he knows not". Thank you
Sau khi đọc cái topic này, tui vẫn thấy chưa có câu trả lời đầy đủ cho câu "find her, keep her". Theo Sinnombre trích dẩn từ tự điển th́ câu này gần nghĩa với câu "finders keepers, losers weepers" (t́m được (vậy ǵ) th́ được giữ, c̣n người mất th́ chỉ khóc). Nhưng câu này chỉ có thể dùng được cho vật ǵ thôi chứ không thể dùng cho người, như Sinnombre cũng đă nói. Vậy th́ các bạn dịch câu "find her keep her" làm sao?
Nếu mọi người đọc topic này thấy ư nghĩa rơ ràng rồi th́ tôi cũng chỉ muốn làm người "không biết nhưng biết ḿnh không biết". Cám ơn nhiều.

Theo hiểu biết cuả tôi căn cứ vào cuộc sống ở những nước sống nhờ kinh doanh buôn bán (business-oriented countries), th́ đ́ều mà chúng ta đang nói đến, chỉ là những mánh lới (business tricks) cuả những nhà kinh doanh. Đó gọi là chiến lược quảng cáo (advertisement strategies) cũng được.
Họ đưa ra câu "Find her, keep her" với hàm ư: Mời quư khách đến thăm website cuả chúng tôi, cưả hàng cuả chúng tôi. Thế nào quư khách cũng t́m được những thứ quư vị muốn có và giữ được trong cuộc sống cuả quư vị!
Họ đă nhân cách hoá (personify) món hàng cuả họ, như thể là "nàng" để biếu cho bạn làm sở hữu!
Nói khác đi, cái chiến lược quảng cáo cuả các doanh nghiệp là kích động trí ṭ ṃ (arouse your curiosity) cuả quần chúng, để họ thử nghe, thử xem, và ... thử bỏ tiền vào túi họ. Họ làm giàu, nhờ mỗi người thử một tí, dù chỉ thử ... một lần!

I have never tried to translate "Find her, Keep her!" till now. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you!
"Find her, Keep her!" can literately be translated into Vietnamese as "T́m nàng, giữ nàng!"
There is no way anyone can translate "Đă t́m được, phải giữ lấy!" into English as "Find her, Keep her!" (anyone who understands English and Vietnamese well will have no choice but tranlate "Đă t́m được, phải giữ lấy!" into English as "Found it, should (must) have kept it!"), therefore, there is no way anyone can correctly translate "Find her, Keep her!" into Vietnamese as "Đă t́m được, phải giữ lấy!"
There is a Walt Disney Cartoon named "Find her, Keep her"
("Find her, Keep her"-The new adventures of Winnie the Pooh---- www.bcdb.com/cartoon_synopsis/32092-Find_Her,_Keep_Her.html), in which there is a FEMALE BABY BLUEBIRD named KESSIE. "Find her, Keep her" in this Cartoon here refers to KESSIE, the FEMALE BIRD that Rabbit found and wanted to keep :-).
As I said in my earlier post that "Find and Keep" can also be used for human beings (Ex: His daughter was kidnapped and he tried to find her.), but it is a little less romantic than "Catch and hold". "Find and keep" is usually use in a comical way or by dating agencies which try to help people finding their match.
As for me, I am an uneducated, unskill laborer I can only dream that one day I might "CATCH AND HOLD" the better half of mine somewhere somehow :-).
PS: I do agree with Mr. Ototot that lots of companies use all kind of "silly slogan" to trick people to come to their business establishments.

I wholeheartedly agree with sinnombre that the phrase “Find me, keep me” cannot be translated wisely into Vietnamese; neither need it be, nor should it be, and never shall it be translated literally into Vietnamese!
If you can understand it, you don’t definitely need to think of it in Vietnamese. And if you don’t, then why bother looking around for something that is even more ... incomprehensible?
The fact of the matter is the phrase is designed by advertisers only to arouse your curiosity. It’s a trap that you and I should not fall into.

Thank you both Mr Ototot and Sinnombre for explaining your understanding of the phrase. I find it sometimes difficult to comprehend languages used with implications, idioms, or personification etc... You really have to have the context to dicipher it. As for translation, sometimes you can't translate word for word, but have to find a phrase in the other langauge that conveys a similar meaning.

If you don't mind my being curious and making unwelcoming comments, but I find your knowledge of English is pretty good and your French is not bad either (though I'm in no position to judge; I don't know French). I'm really bad at learning languages so I have high regard for those people who can overcome obstacles to learn a language such as Mr Ototot and yourself. I think you're just being modest when you're say you're uneducated. I hope you can find your "catch and hold" in here or somewhere else.

You're not bad yourself dear. I mean you do have an excellent command of the English language :-). So! Please do not be so humble eh!
Hope this will satisfy your curiosity :-)! Under the right circumstances and if one puts his mind into it, anyone can learn many languages at the same time easily. To make a long story short, I just happened to have a Mexican and a female French exchange student as friends while I was studying English as a Second Language. I now work with lots of Spanish speaking people and still keep in touch with my French friend :-). That's why my Spanish and French are as bad as my English and Vietnamse :-).
My dear friend! My face is turning red out of embarrassment here. Please do not "humiliate:)" me in a public forum like this no more eh! Anyhow, from the bottom of my heart I honestly thank you for all your kind words Mangcau0907. Truly appreciate your kinds words dear!
