Lynhat you saied your hobby is earning money and earning more money. That is very normal, you wish making a lot of money to support your family and build up your future. The aim is noble and worth thinking about. You try your best to do but more important with a joy and as a hobby. I am constantly not enought money to spend and I have to change. Thank you for all you said. Right now I feel my mind is burning, I'll spend most of time in working and learning English. I probadly wasted of time with useless things. I have to work more.

I’m quite pleased to hear it from you about MONEY. A lot of people say :
1) Money is dirty.
2) Money is the root of all evils.
3) Etc.
Money is only a tool. It is like a pen. It can be used to write a beautiful love letter. And also, it can be used as lethal weapon to stab into a person’s eye. It totally depends on the user.
I believe that life was more important than money, but money was important for supporting life. I think, I only have so many hours a day and I can only work so hard. So why work for money? Learn to have money and people work hard for me, and I can be free doing the things that are important.
1) Having a lot of time for the wife and to raise the kids.
2) Having money to donate to charities, poor people, I supported.
3) Having time and money to take care of my health and family.
4) Being travel around the world with my family.
5) etc.
Those things take money. That is why money is important to me, but I don’t want to spend my life working for it.
A lot of people said, money makes people to be bad. Money doesn’t make people to be bad. Money REVEALS who you are. If you a bad person, you’ll become a worse person. If you are a good-hearted person, you’ll become a better good-hearted person. Money must be a SLAVE to the owner, don’t let money control you.
A lot of people said, money doesn’t make you happy. I totally agree with that point, if a person is unhappy, all of money in the world gives it to him, he still be an unhappy person. If a person is happy, a little more money comes in, he’ll be happier.

Minh rat la vui ve khi nghe anh noi ve van de TIEN. Co rat nhieu nguoi noi :
1) Tien la do day.
2) Tien la nguon goc cua toi loi.

Tien chi la mot dung cu thoi. No co the la cay viet. Cay viet co the dung de viet mot la tho tinh tham thiet. Va cung vay, cay viet co the dung lam dung cu nguy hiem de dam vao mat cua mot nguoi. No hoan toan le thuoc vao nguoi xu dung no.
Minh nghi cuoc song rat quan trong hon tien bac, nhung tien la mot vat cung cap quan trong cho cuoc song hang ngay. Minh nghi mot ngay minh chi co may gio lam viec. Tai sao minh phai lam viec kiem tien? Oh!Last times I was so busy that I couldn't online.I must prepared some essays to give my teacher. But they weren't quite good. No problem, I try again later.
I'm learning in third year at Law Department in HN. The fact is that I hate learning E (Do U surprise when I said that?), but I must learn it to earn much money. Like lynhat, I want to have one reliable basis for future.
To achieve my aim, I must try more.

Mấy hôm trước ḿnh bận quá ko thể lên mạng được. Ḿnh fải chuận bị 1 vài bài tiểu luận để đưa cho các thầy. Nhưng chúng ko được tốt lắm. Ko sao, ḿnh sẽ cố gắng ở những lần sau.
Ḿnh đang học năm thứ 3 Khoa luật ở HN. Thực sự là ḿnh ghét học TA lắm (chắc các bạn hẳn sẽ ngạc nhiên khi ḿnh nói nhu vậy), nhưng vẫn fải học nó để kiếm nhiều tiền. Cũng như lynhat, ḿnh muốn có 1 nền tảng chắc chắn cho tương lai. Để đạt được mục tiêu ḿnh sẽ phải cố gắng nhiều hơn nữa.
Chúc lynhat sẽ kiếm được nhiều tiền, và tungdaihiep sẽ được tăng lương. Chúc các bạn nhiều may mắn

How are you going?. To be honest with both of you, tungdaihiep & mabufe, driving taxi & tourist car are my part time jobs, for extra income & entertainment. I have my main jobs as well. I’d like to tell you, but I can’t, because it is private. I can definitely assure you that they are all legal jobs, 100%.

Lynhat, you said that you have taught yourself for 10 years. Really? Have not you join any English class?
Mabufe, You hate English! I don't believe. Maybe you was not good at English last time so you didn't get good marks lead to you felf hate. But now you study English for a larger purpose- making more money in the future. I think you should learn E with your passion. I had learn E at hight scholl for 3 year but not effectively. After graduated from the scholl I almost fogot all. I wonder why? and Lynhat was right. The reason was I didn't determine my goal clearly. I only learned to make test to get good marks...

* About me, in this morning, I had a cough and now it's seem getting heavy. Maybe, tomorrow, my voice will be lost. It's terrible! Oh! I know to learn E well, I have enthusiasm. But I don't know why I don't like it. And now, I'm trying to learn E wiht love. Therefore, I joined this room, and I try to speak English more and more (at present, I'm learning to communication E class in APEC centre. My class has 2 foreigner. They are quite good teacher-I think so).

I would like to write a short essay about English as a second language for Vietnamese.
As a result of the fact that Vietnam is now opening its doors to the world, there comes the pressing need for a larger sector of Vietnamese to learn it.
I have learnt English when a kid in high school, then in college. I have learnt it while I was living in Vietnam. And I have learnt it while living abroad, as I see learning as a life-long process.
Reading about how many young Vietnamese, like you, the viewers and members of this website, are learning it has prompted me to pass on my personal experience to you.
To learn the language efficiently, you need, among many other things:
- To have the “passion” to learn it : you should be willing to invest your time, your effort, and even your money in learning it!
- To have good teachers : they are those who have been trained to teach English. It does not matter whether they are foreigners or Vietnamese like you. But don’t ever, ever think that native speakers of English are necessarily good teachers of English!
- To avoid thinking something in Vietnamese first, then translating it into English! You will need to read/hear a lot what has been written/said by native speakers of English to see how differently things are being expressed in English and in Vietnamese.
I wish to be able to return to this topic some time.
Tôi muốn được bàn ngắn gọn về việc ngướ Việt học tiếng Anh.
Bởi lẽ nước ḿnh đang mở cưả ra thế giới, càng ngày càng có nhiều thành phần thấy cấp thiết phải học tiếng Anh.
Bản thân tôi học tiếng Anh thuở trung học, rồi đại học. Học ở quê nhà. Ra nước ngoài học nưă, v́ quan niệm học là suốt đời.
Khi đọc những bài viết cuả các bạn trên diễn đàn này, tôi thấy bị thúc bách phải viết lên kinh nghiệm bản thân ḿnh.
Muốn học tiếng này cho giỏi, một số điều kiện quan trọng là:
- Hăy đam mê học nó. Bỏ thời gian, công sức và tiền bạc ra mà học.
- Kiếm cho ḿnh những ông bà thày giỏi mà học, giỏi là họ đă được đào tạo để dạy học, không cần biết họ là người nước ngoài hay người bản xứ như ḿnh. Xin đừng bao giờ quan niệm rằng người sinh ra nói tiếng Anh nhất thiết là dạy giỏi tiếng Anh!
- Khi nói hay viết tiếng Anh, đừng nghĩ bằng tiếng Việt, rồi t́m cách dịch sang tiếng Anh! Bạn cần để ư đọc và nghe người dùng tiếng Anh là tiếng mẹ đẻ viết/nói khác với cách diễn tả cuả tiếng Việt như thế nào.
Có điều kiện, tôi sẽ xin trở lại đề tài này lần nưă.

Hi Tungdaihiep,
Yes, I’ve been studying English for more than 10 years by myself. I attended only elementary classes in school. Every single day, I read in English for more than 2 hours, speak loudly to myself for minimum 15 minutes and listen to educational fields when I have a spare moment.
Now, a lot of my friends say that I’m a lucky person whom has a good job, reasonable salary, good opportunity to move up the ladder of life. I wish that they don’t use the word “LUCKY”. I spent many, many years trying to improve myself. I don’t do those things like my friends do :
1) Listen to love and unhappy songs. (Because each time, I listen, my mental energy is going down, instead of going up).
2) Spend a lot of time in chasing girls for fun.
3) etc…

Thank-you for your compliments. Yes, my job is related to English every day. I communicate to the foreigners in three methods : speaking, writing and listening. When I read, write, talk, etc.. I think in English not in Vietnamese language.
You want to talk about the topic FRIENDSHIP. Yes, I’ve got a lot of friends in different areas. You raised the question : “what do you think about young people today?”. It is a very interesting question. From my opinion, most of the young people today, they want to enjoy life, they want to have everything. When?. Now. That is why, when they getting old, they can’t support themselves and families. It is very sad to say that an average person starts working at the age of twenty-five and finish working at the age of sixty-five. When they retire, they can’t support themselves. What is happening during 40 years of working?.

Vang, minh tu hoc Anh Van da tren 10 nam roi. Minh co den truong hoc de hoc ve can ban. Moi mot ngay, minh doc Anh Van tren 2 tieng, tu noi it nhat la 15 phut va hoc nghe Tieng Anh nhieu lanh vuc khac nhau khi minh co thoi gian ranh roi.
Hien gio, co rat nhieu nguoi ban noi, minh la nguoi may man, co cong viec tot, luong tuong doi, co co hoi de di len trong nac thang cua cuoc song. Minh muon rang cac ban cua minh dung xu dung tu ngu “MAY MAN”. Minh xai rat nhieu, nhieu nam de tu trao gioi. Minh khong co lam nhung gi ma cac ban cua minh lam:
1) Nghe nhung ban nhac yeu duong va buon ba (Boi vi moi lan nghe, tinh than cua minh di xuong, thay vi di len).
2) Xu dung rat nhieu thoi gian de theo duoi nhung nguoi con gai cho cuoc vui choi.

Thank OngTre for your valuable guides. Truly I have ever thought that the difference betwent E and Vietnamese is the structure of sentence. In other words how to express a Vietnamese ideas into English grammatically. Saying is easy, doing is hard. Now I am trying to improve that by the way inquiring your expressing who are very good at English. I will reread your articles many time, first and foremost Lynhat and OT to learn the way to construct a sentence flexibility. Now It is my best way because I don't join any English class.

Cám ơn OT đă chỉ dẫn cho những điều rất hữu ích. Thực sự tôi đă từng nghĩ đến điều mà OT nói đó là sự khác biệt về cấu trúc câu giữa tiếng Việt và tiếng Anh. Nói cách khác là làm sao để diễn đạt một ư nói từ tiếng việt sang tiếng anh một cách đúng về ngữ pháp. Nói th́ dễ, làm mới khó. Hiện giờ tôi đang cố gắng để cải thiện điều đó bằng cách học lấy cách diễn đạt của các bạn những người giỏi tiếng anh hơn tôi. Tôi sẽ đọc lại những bài viết của các bạn nhiều lần, nhất là của Lynhat và OT để học cách đặt câu sao cho linh hoạt. Hiện tai đó là cach mà tôi cảm thấy tốt nhất v́ tôi không tham gia bất kỳ một lớp học tiếnh anh nào cả.

One of the best way to learn English or anything news is to repeat them several dozen times. When you read or hear something a number of times, you are following one of the oldest education principles known to man is – repetition.

Mot trong nhung phuong phap hoc Anh Van tot nhat hoac la bat cu cai gi moi la bang cach lap lai hang chuc lan. Khi ban doc hoac nghe cai gi do nhieu lan, ban di theo mot trong nhung phuong phap hoc lau doi nhat do la – lap lai.
Su lap lai nhieu lan la nguoi me cua hoc hoi va la nguoi cha cua hanh dong, no co nghia la mot nen tang cua su thanh cong.

Thank Lynhat for your guide, Lynhat.
I readed your advice to tdhcd45 involved repeatation in learning English. I tried to follow that method, only a month passed, I felt more efficient than my learning method before. Right now I am very exciting with studying English. I think that in the early years I will be possible to write and speak longer and deep compositions and speeches.
With the topic: FRIENDSHIP refered by Mabufe, I have a small remark as follow:
What is friendship? Maybe We don't need to define it in philosophy. I only fell clearly that There are a greet friendship here- in this English forum. You, yes right you are bring about that.

- Thank you for your opinions to this topic. I think I needn't say FRIENSHIP more, because it's sure, U understand value of friendship. Am I right? I want to tell more YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY. I agree with lynhat's idea. A part of them spend money like water, without know where is money?! You see there are more Youth enter into the road of offence to get money to satisfy their luxurious lifestyle, or prove that they have powerful. Beside, many young people indifferent to yourself, your family, your life,... and they lost their heart. They don't laugh, don't cry, when they meet invalid, they think nothing. Their hearts were frozen.
- However, a part of them try to work hard each hour and each minute to improve your life, or help invalid. They are beautiful for our life, are owner of VN for future.
